Purchased this boat mainly for the windshield it's not the original it was updated at some point, going to install it on my 1988 Super Sport 18 that we rebuilt this last summer, and use the windshield off it on this one.

Started the tear down, the po used jute backed interior burber carpet was in surprisingly good shape, the deck itself is in great shape can reuse it if need be, not sure how I;m going to do the bow yet.

You all don't waste any time getting started on tear down do ya!

Looks like a pretty clean install on the live well in the bow.

Looking forward to this rebuild. I'm sure it will turn out awesome like your others have.

Great find mate! I'm in the midst of a redo also and have already been in contact with Taylor Made for a fish n ski windshield replacement for my holiday. Have sent pics and a few measurements already....anxiously awaiting their quote.
I have admired your work in past re-dos and I know you'll do a bang on job again! I"ll be watching this thread closely. Have fun!

Nice little boat. Looks like she's been under the knife before at least once.

Someone put a ton of work and money into this one at some point and I see there was a cross border raiding party into MN.

Thanks guys, yes this boat was definitely refurbished sometime in the past, I thought I was bad at overkill but that person has me beat for sure, the hardest floor and carpet I've had to remove for a long time, I was really surprised the floor and flotation was dry, the boat had so much tongue weight I thought it would be totally saturated but that's not the case, going to replace the floor and flotation anyway, floor was 1/2 and the deck 5/8 going to use 5/8 for the floor and 3/4 for the deck, going to leave the live well where it was but might make a partial walk through between the consoles.

Finished gutting the interior, totally dry, amazing how much lighter the tongue weight is, the easy part is over.

Ah yeah the blank slate after clean up. After the new transom goes in I'm thinking this little SS will fly together. :thumb:

Budski,
That combination works great for sealing wood on the cheap! I did put 2 final coats of straight spar and that really "sealed the deal". Great looking rebuild thus far!

Thanks Frey, Got the transum in, and new aluminum skin attached I used 5200 between original and and new skin, screwed and bolted on, came out great. We also welded riveted and welded new 1x1 angle on the cracked knee brace.

Oh yeah nice work right there, I thought about the transom re-work on my SS but the V5 style is a lot more narrow.
