Floor, Seats, consoles, front seating framed and mounted. Put in new steering cable and throttle cables and controls for the new 2022 power plant. Next I have to work on electrical. :( Tell me if this sounds ok .. 6 gauge from battery 1 to battery disconnect w/ second battery 2 from the front of boat w/ 6 gauge to disconnect. The disconnect has bat 1 or bat 2 or bat 1+2 and bat off. i will run 10 gauge from back of boat where disconnect will be to front console to fuse box for lights, horn, fish finder. The front Bat 2 will be used for direct connect to trolling motor when needed. Will charge bat 1+2 when motor is running and reserve 1 for starting only and 2 only when motor is off.
Any thoughts are appreciated as i am not a sparky.

Thx

I'm not great with electrical either, but as I am planning out my runs I use the chart here to calculate required wire gauge: https://www.boatus.com/expert-advic...ve/2020/february/choose-the-correct-wire-size

One thing I do remember is that when calculating wire length using the chart you have to calculate the entire circuit, so the positive run and negative added together.

Moving along nicely! I like those seats.

I was looking at power plants yesterday. Pickings are kind of slim. 3 rivers only has a used version of the yammy 70 with a tiller. Thats pretty much the model I'm shooting for. Might need to get on a waiting list...

Thanks for the advice and i used it and other pages for reference.
I am going to try to attache a PDF.with a very good schematic that I used as a guide as well as a bunch of other resources.
I have included my chicken scratch wire diagram as well.
This is what i used.
Batteries 1 + 2 to batteries selector switch run in 4 gauge.
10 gauge from Bat 2 neg- to fuse block And 10 gauge Pos+ run from common on battery selector switch.
Added another 10 gauge from ground only bat #2 to ground only 8 gang fuse block mounted a couple inches away from the main fuse block under the console.
Separated factory gang switches as they were daisy chained to hookup to one fuse. Put each item and switch on there own fuse's. All wires from switches run w/ 16 gauge except bilge pump.
Bilge pump ran w/ 12 gauge, positive side ran to switch and neg ran to Bat #1 neg post. Positive for bilge was 12 feet 1 way bat #1 was 3 feet from bilge pump.
I do not have a float switch for the bilge pump currently although i think i will get one and wire it per the PDF.

The seats were one of the cheapest on Amazon.
The admiral is questioning the expenses a bit and I decided to wait a while for a better seat.

There were not any motors in Portland and i had to go to Seattle to get this one.
there were no discounts as they said they never know when they get them and they sell out within a week when they do come in.
In Portland they wanted a deposit and I would have to wait up to a year for arrival.
That was from a dealer!!!!

Splash!!!
The boat hit the water w/ the admiral and i.
Break in on the 70hp Yamaha 1 hour half throttle, 1 hour plane then backed off throttle and kept plane. Next will be 8 hours any speed but 5 minutes max at full throttle. Then drive it like i stole it. :)
The pictures are 1 hour in and pulled into Camas Washington Boat dock on the Columbia river. We then went up to Crown point on the Columbia River before heading back to Chinook landing boat ramp. 90 degrees outside but speeding along at 20 mph w/ the wind in your face looking at nature makes for a perfect afternoon.

Great job! Beautiful area to boat in.

Did you have to bring your boat to Seattle for the install? Which dealer, if you don't mind me asking?

Congrats on the splash, and nice choice on the outboard! We've got a 2007 F60 Yamaha on ours, the first year with fuel injection. It's been flawless so far.

Thanks! Ive checked there site but had trouble viewing inventory. Finally got it to work. They still have 70's in stock, and actually list prices vrs call for details.

Tacoma isn't far for me. Thought I was going to have to drive to Portland! ;)
Mid Columbia says they just got a bunch in.

They seem to be nice people. Taxes for an Oregonian gave me pause but did not stop me.

Thanks, I have read very good things about the Yamaha 70. I just got back from a day at the lake for trout and as the Admiral says there is no longer a smoke screen as with the 70hp Evinrude.

I think that's the same motor as the F60 (~ 260 lbs), just with slightly higher rev limit? Seems like a perfect choice to me The 60 will get our boat up on plane loaded with 6 people, but it's working. 2-4 people and it feels downright zippy. Tops out at about 35 mph with two passengers.

I think mine will be right in that range for speed.
It is so quite you have to really listen or you won't hear that it is running.
And no i am not exaggerating.
I will report back in a year if i remember (or one of you remind me) on how it is running and if i am still happy with it.

I am glad i finished the major work before September as that is the start of my Salmon season.
I am going to look at a new to me

Humminbird 998c SI

2010 model.
If you guy's or girls have a good reason for me to pass on it, please tell me quick as i look at it tomorrow afternoon.
Thanks.
