So I recently got myself an old project boats that the floor was rotten on and needs to be completely redone. It's a 14ft 1973 MFG gypsy. I can't find parts or even information about any of the original parts. There are no seats in the boat, no cushions, it has been completely stripped. I can see all of the snaps surrounding the boat from what I'm guessing was either cushions and some areas or a cover for the boat because the Snaps are on the outside of the hull also. So my question is where can I locate information about the OEM setup for this boat? I understand that I'll have to get a lot of non oem replacements which is fine but I'd like to have some kind of idea of how the boat was set up. Like the seats for it what did they look like? Where can I find new bow rails? What size were the cushions that went in the front? How was the windshield set up? What was the setup for the fuel tank and the batteries? I have searched the internet and can't find anything. If there's anyone out there with knowledge of this boat or has one I would love to see some pictures or some help with this really. I've already replaced the stringers, replaced the flotation foam, laid new floor and glassed it. Thanks for any info and or help!

Good afternoon-
Where are you located? I am in New Hampshire...
I have a 1970 MFG Gypsy, that is pretty much original- light blue, over white bottom.
The original seats were 'back-to-back" light blue, with lighter blue insert panels. The front bow section has molded fiberglass seating, but does have a few snaps that I COULD secure some pads onto... but haven't. I don't think the boat originally had any pads installed... The outer snaps of your boat are likely for a top and bow cover. I HAD a nice original taylor-brand top, but it shredded over the years- Two summers ago, I had some bow cover and mooring covers sewn together that make use of the original snaps.
The front bow rails... and cleats etc. on mine are all original. I think you will likely need to find a "parts boat" to get replacements of the hardware as needed. I can try to send photos of my boat if you like- somewhere I HAVE some photos of the original seats... My original seats did finally start deteriorating, and I replaced with some very similar looking seats. My originals sit in my barn at home.
Sincerely,
Bob W
