I recently got a 72 Glastron V156. The gentleman I got the boat from had already began to gut it. Carpet has been pulled, seats are out, and some trim is gone. The wood flooring has been glassed. It seems solid! I snatched around the motor, and that feels solid! I think I felt one soft spot in the rear section of floor along with some rot in the wood where the wiring runs to the motor. I've also seen rot when I opened the storage hatch at the front of the boat. My question is in order to replace the stringers, and flooring do I need to remove the top half of the boat? If so am I going to have to re foam! The foam felt solid. It wasn't wet. Where I could reach anyhow! The boat itself E appears to be in great shape! Just some cosmetics scratches in the gel coating, and faded coating! I don't want to mess anything up or risk my family getting injured. So where should I start from here?!?!? Thank you!!!!

Welcome aboard ! Davis13 ... Is this the tread you want us to respond to ... You started one earlier . It's easier for us to follow just one ... A MOD can merge the two if you want ..
From the first look of the deck and rot you described I would do some core samples on the transom .. Chances are it has rot also ... If that's the case taking the cap off will be the best way to go . imho ...

Would I have to re foam if I do so? I don't mind if the two were merged! I've never replaced stringers or a hull. I hope it won't be too expensive!

that is a small boat you would probably be looking at around 100 to 150 for foam your largest cost will be fiberglass materials and again for that sized boat you could probably do all of it for around 1200 or so np try to stay away from carpet if possible its the root of almost all evils lol!

Well now to figure out what order I do things. I have so many questions lol!!! Can I buy foam or do I pour it, can I order struts or do I cut them, and same for the transom!?!?!?

You can do which ever ... Buy the blue sheet foam and cut to fit under the deck or use the 2 part expandable foam it's up to you really ..
A good ext grade plywood will work or marine grade if you can find it locally ... For the stringers and transom ..
If ya got deep pockets there is always seacast or other composites or pourables that are available all depends on what ya want to spend ..
