I was just given a boat with a 1972 chrysler 85hp motor. The boat really gets up and moves at full throttle... for about ten minutes, and it seems like it drops 2 cylinders. It will still run, but very slow. If I put it in neutral and rev it a couple times, and kick it back into gear it clears out for 3 more minutes and does it again. What's my problem??

Re: 1972 chrysler 85hp

The motor has 3 carbs From your description I would say at least one is running out of fuel.
If squeezing the primer bulb helps I would suspect the fuel pump.
It appears when you pause to go into neutral the fuel pump catches up.
other possibilities would be filters, leaky connections.May not leak gas but
suck air.tank vent closed or plugged, dip tube screen dirty. If this has sat a lot you may end up going through the fuel system from tank to carb with attention to cleaning.
