Just wondering if is is safe to run my outboard without the Rectifier and the Shift and Lead diode assembly hooked up. I have recently replaced the stator (was leaking and cracked) and the power pack(original, figured I might as well replace it) Well I am wishing I had ordered a new rectifier as well, fairly cheap part and can cause lots of problems if they go from what I have read, although the old one appears to test fine according the the service manual, I don't appear to be get a decent charge voltage at the battery unless the motor is 3000rpm or more, maybe that is normal, but I though it would charge the battery at a lower RPM

Long story short, parts will take about 2weeks + to reach me, in the mean time, will I risk the new stator and/or new powerpack, running the boat without the rectifier? The shift and lead is not working at all so I am going to replace it as well and would like to remove it while I wait for new parts

I understand that my battery will not charge and the propeller will engage when shutting the motor off, just don't want to cause any harm if I choose to go for a cruise while waiting for parts.

Thanks
