Looking for a little assurance befor i throw a bunch of parts at this thing. Sometimes the motor will take 15 to 20 min to get started but when it does start it fires in about a crank and a half. other times it starts right up. Then when running at idle it will just stop running. no coughing or sputtering... just dies. then it will crank and crank with no fire and then one turn of the key and its off and runnin. changed pulgs and it made no difference. Will both coils fail intermitently or the power pack. if it was a coil i would think i would get some fire out of one. lookin to test both coils and power pack before i just replace all three. Thanks for any help.

Check compression and spark first, Spark should jump an open air gap of 1/2 inch. Bright blue and snappy.

Wonder if your kill wire is shorting out? Disconnect it and try to start, if it then fires right up you have a fault in your stop circuit. Be aware, with this wire disconnected you will have to choke it to stop it. It is black with a yellow stripe. Disconnet at the PP.
