1971 seaswirl steering cable?

I am A new boat owner and purchased a 1971 seaswirl with a 65hp mercury outboard. It's a very old boat and needs a new steering cable. I have no clue on what type of cable to use and where I can get one. the Places I have called said they have no info on the boat. Thanks for your help

crawl under the helm with a flashlight and get as many numbers and words as you can, and post them. hopefully it is teleflex. thats what was on my 71.

If you can just get the old one off, I took the whole thing to a marina shop and they matched it up and I walked out with the new one, less than $120. It has to be the right type, and length.
