My father and I are new boat owners. We bought a 17' Beach Craft and trailer for pretty cheap. No motor. I got a 1971 Mercury 1350 for free off of a Jolley Roger speed boat. I am trying to find parts. It has no flywheel and stator. It may be missing the Switch Box assembly and rectifier assembly. Its missing the distributor cap and plug wires.
The good thing is that the motor was rebuilt just before it was stored. I have everything that was hooked to it including the Mercury throttle assembly and the trim assembly.
Where could I find parts?
How can I find information on how to properly prep the motor for starting it?
Please keep in mind that My father and I are new to boats and outboards.
