Hello all my names chris. My merc thunderbolt 500 will not start ! I have never had a problem with it before ... Not even on a cold start. I took it out several times in the fall and wanted to take it out today .. Here are some things i did
The wires and plugs are bran new
I tried 2 diffrent fully charged batteries
I checked all my connections
Took the cowl off and checked all wires and insured everything was tight
My dad even tried to jump the starter
All my lights wored so i know their was power from the battery , turn the key and absloutly nothing ... Any help is appreciated im no expert at this by anymeans. I figured maybe their is a inline fuse to the motor ? Maybe an ignition module of some sort ? Pictures would be very helpful as well
Thank you all for reading and helping in advance

Are you saying that the starter motor won't turn the engine over or the motor itself won't start? If the starter isn't turning its bad/corroded cables or solenoid or needs repairing, if it isn't starting it could be no fuel or the switchbox/trigger assem./coil. That uses a magneto driver ignition (no points) if you have a timing lite connect it to a plug wire and pull the motor by hand it should flash if OK. No main fuse if you think it's the control hold the key on start and move the handle from F to R slowly
