1971 60hp Evinrude

Starts at times and runs good.Next day wont fire at all. Charged batteries and replaced. Hit once the won't fire. Have had new Amplifier assembly and stator replaced. Help.

Hi Slim,<br />Try disconnecting the black/yellow wire then try again, just remember though it won't shut off with the key switch, you will either have to put the wire back on or choke it off. If this works you either have a sometimes bad key switch or the wiring going to it.

71 60hp evinrude 3-cyl.Tried to disconnect black/yellow wire. Don't have that color, have black/white from amplifier, motor wouldn't fire. re-connected and engine started. Started each time until later in day, then wouldn't fire at all. Maybe its a bad amplifier again. some times it starts and others times it wont even with battery charged up fully.
