1971 115hp questions

A friend of mine recently purchased a boat and motor combo and was throwing some questions at me and I couldn't find them on the net so I need some help.

What is the fuel oil mix ratio?

What would you recommend for spark plugs and wires for a tune up?

Why do I need to spray starting fluid to start the motor but after it is warmed up it will SOMETIMES start on its own.

I think the oil ratio is 50:1 but im not sure for that motor. as for the Starter Fluid issue, i would not recommend using "Starter Fluid" as it does not have any oil in it, use either WD40 or put some mix gas in a little squirt bottle. most likley it is in need of a carb re-build.
