Hi Guys,

Been reading a lot off this forum since I bought new project 3 weeks ago.

It is a Wellcraft airslot 165 early 70's model. With the evinrude 50573b 50 hp. When I bought it the engine did not run cleaned out the carbs and changed all the fuel lines and now it runs great. It floats, but the hull is not pretty I would like to clean it up(sand and paint?) not sure how to do that.. Also I need to take the cap off the hulll so I can rebuild the wood floor underneath its definitely rotted out and has ton of drill holes in the fiberglass floor..

So I need a few suggestions if possible on.
1)Good fiberglass repair techniques as well as products(interior and exterior).
2) How do I separate the hull from the cap?
3)Repair of floor underneath? What type of plywood? Any tips possible.
4) Repairing the fiberglass floor holes as well as mounting new chairs.. Planing on doing back to back lounges..

Thanks Ahead of time

Ben

Go to this youtube channel and start watching. FriscoJarretts - YouTube The 81 glastron is the oldest project and the 86 glastron is the newest with the sea ray falling between the two.

I was at work earlier so I gave you the quick answer. Here is some more detail. Jay (the one who's channel is in the link) has restored the three boats listed. He has documented the process very well and helps you understand the why's a lot of time. For what you want to do, the two Glastron rebuilds should give you all the info you need. I would suggest you start with viewing the 86 Glastron, then if you crave more go for the 81, then the sea ray.

Thanks,

I will try to take some "before" photos this weekend. Even though I have done a lot of cleaning and mechanical work. The boat runs and floats great the rest is aesthetic and flooring work.
