Re: 1970 islander 22
have had to pick and choose time to work on her so coming along slow.
will not give up on this boat i actually love it.
will update pic's and post.
she is ready for seats now and am checking out ebay, they seem to have some nice ones.
lower unit is off, have aligning tool, new gimbal, bellows, impeller kit, shift cable and hardware, s.s. lines, extra set of cyl's, shaft & bushings, just a bunch of replacement parts.
still need to paint the hull.
transoms in pretty good shape but plan this winter to replace and get engine rebuilt.
engine is fine just a security thing.
i know i should have done engine and transom first but oh well.
next season really want to do the friendship cruise and the 1000 mile cumberland/tennessee.
well that's the plan anyway thanks.
Hey alumi numb sorry to dig up this old dusty thread but I was curious how the Islander is looking these days? Hope you didn't give up on the big tin can she looks like a real fine specimen. Got some updated pictures to post?
Islanders have been my favorite boat since around 1987 when I was 10
