I posted about this before, but I have since replaced the timing advance linkage bushings which were cracked and falling apart. The engine starts nd idlrs fine, however when throttle is applied, the engine dies when the throttle cam touches the carb cam. I thought it might be the loose bushings but it did not help. Any more ides?

P.s. The engine can be reved by hand using the carb cam just not using the throttle lever

It sounds like you are out of snyc....Do you have a service manual for your engine?

If you havent allready, check the compression of the engine. Then check the quality of spark to each cylinder.

Disconect the throttle lever at the engine. Keep the throttle remote in nutral. Start the engine, let it warm up and adjust the idle to 900-1100 rpm on muffs. Re-attach the throttle lever to the engine. You may need to adjust the cable to fit the new position for your idle. Adjust the cable to the engine, not the engine to the cable.Shut off engine and raise the warm-up lever and see if the cam follower lines up with the word "start" on the throttle cam. If it dont adjust the cam untill it does. Lower the warm up lever. Re check the warm up lever a few times and the remote throtle a few times and make sure the cam returns to the same place each time. If it doesnt, the cable is inproperly adjusted and you will get uneven idle.
