I previously posted about my 9.5 not starting on its own but will with starting fluid and won't stay running. I have thoroughly cleaned the carb, jets, bowl, and everything else I could find. I thought it might be the fuel pump but it is pumping plenty. I stuck the fuel line in the top of the carb and it started. I was able to keep it running by putting the fuel line in and pulling it out as it flooded, but it will not stay running any other way. What am i missing here. The float bowl always has fuel in it. It just seems the fuel cannot get from the bowl to the venturi?? and into the head. PLEASE HELP!

Helo again,M.A.D.
You missed something in the carb. It has a plugged pickup tube, venturi in the side of the pickup tube,or other orafice. Turn the idle mixture screw in until it contacts the seat, while counting the turns. Then remove it.Blow some carb cleaner thru everythng, until it comes out somewhere else.
But wear eye protection, because it NEVER exits were you think it is supposed to,and seems to know exactly where your eyeballs are.
But if the pump is pumping, compression is good, it will be in the carb.Something is stopping the fuel in it.No question about it.

There is a ventilation tube in the carbureator, from the bowl op to the airintake muffler. If you placed the gasket between the carbureator so the ventilation is cloused, the gas can´t pass the venturi.

The end looks like an unused screwhole on top of the flange. Blow through it. By the way, did you remember the little gasket in the center of the bowl?
