Hey y'all. Hope I'm posting in the right place. If not let me know please. Ok....I have a 70 model 9.5 merc. I've been a mechanic my whole life. This things killing me! I've cleaned the carb 8 times...it'll run for about 2 min then stops pulling fuel from the carb. After it quits you can pull until blue in the face and yer soul hurts! Pump the bulb one time...one drop down throat...it'll fire up on a half pull...run for 10 sec and die. Over..and over and over. I'm freaking out man.

in 1970 Mercury made a 7.5 hp and a 9.8 hp (which was called a model "110"). Which one do you have?

It sounds like the fuel line is clogged or the tank is not venting.

+1 X 2, I just had to clean my tank out, build a new fuel line and put a new carb on my 67 Model 110.

You also need to check the fuel pump to make sure it does not have a leak.

What series carburetor does your have on it, should be a KA series, you can find the model number on the front of the fuel bowl on the left hand side of the motor as you are looking at the front of it.
