I have A 1970 25 hp evinrude,I purchased it with a 1957 16'ft boat and a very well built 1960 home made trailer for $250.00, fiberglass runabout doesnt leak a drop so cant complain! But I bought it from A deaf and mute guy literally! So not alot of info on the motor,It has good compression,I took apart the carburetor float bowl it was clean I checked for spark at the plugs there was spark,I pulled the flywheel to check the points they were not to bad,the coil packs looked like new, but still this pig won't start. Now here's my question: I noticed that the plug wires under the rubber caps were quite corroded one had greenish white deposits and the other was like that on the end, but when I stripped it back some, it was black. Would this be enough to keep it from running? I'm new to out boards. Thank you. Junkman.
