Hello ladies and gentlemen, I am brand new to this, and this was the first website to pop up for me after running a Google search. I have come into the possession of a 1969 Starcraft Bahama, traded by my grandfather years ago, he got the boat, and traded a truck for it. (Why, I dont know) He went out on it once or twice, and had my mom and dad register it in their name. (Think it was a sly way of him giving it to them) They used the boat for a while, and parked it out back. They later came into possession of a 16' pontoon, and abandoned this Starcraft. Had a birthday a few months back, and my mom calls me to wish me happy birthday. (I live in Georgia, they live in Michigan) Im on the phone with her and she tells me that she has a gift for me, and that I have to come fetch it. I was given the boat. Needless to say, I planned a vacation and was able to get it back home to Georgia. Now, I know almost nothing about boats, the lingo, stuff like that, but have wanted a boat for a long time, as I LOVE to fish. I was well aware that this Starcraft was going to need some work, and since we live in a wondrous age of technology and information, I humbly come to this forum to seek advice, tips, tricks, and information. The biggest problems with the boat currently is that it needs new flooring, seating.
After letting it sit in the Georgia sun for a week to dry out, I took some time this afternoon to start cleaning it up some, and getting down into the decking. (Bad idea on my part, as its 102 outside).
(EDIT) For some reason, I can not upload pics of it. Photobucket seems to have gone downhill since I last used it years ago. So if anyone knows a good free site to allow me to post pics, I would appreciate it. Thanks!
