Greetings Iboats!

I used to be a regular member on here, mostly in the engine and prop forums, but here I am ready to do a complete rebuild on my boat.

I discovered last year that water had intruded into the bilge and the stringers were not glassed over. I knew I would have to rebuild this boat before this season but I found MORE damage than I was expecting.

I pulled up the floor (which was partially rotted) to find all the stringers wet and soft. Some rotted away in parts. Also the transom is still solid but definitely wet. Therfore I'm going to replace that too.

So where to start. I know that I want to balance the cost and labor. I'm pretty sure that I don't want to pay someone else to do this job. I am willing to use Epoxy instead of Poly if it means less grinding and labor time.

Does anyone have any advice on what supplies I should buy for the Stringers, Transom and Floor? I was thinking 1700 Biax for the fiberglass and epoxy for everything. But if it is cheaper to use other types of glass for certain jobs (like tabbing in the stringers) then I'd like to do that.

How many layers of the 1700 with epoxy for each stringer? How many layers for the transom? Should I use woven roving or something cheaper for the deck?

As you can see I've got lots of questions. Any and all comments would be much appreciated.

Cheers and thanks in advance!
