My 1969 9.5 evinrude will only run if I pump the bulb. I have installed a carb kit, new fuel pump, new gas lines and a new fuel tank and bulb. It starts and runs well but will die if bulb isn,t pumped. Need some help here running out of ideas.
Having to pump the primer bulb to keep an engine running usually means you have a defective fuel pump. You said you replaced the pump, did you check it to see if it was pumping?
Remove the fuel going to the carb from the pump, pull the engine over and see if fuel squirts out of the fuel pump.
