My dad has a 1969 85 hp Evinrude outboard. It starts up ok and is fine at idle speeds but once throttle is applied it bogs down and doesn't want to run right. He rebuilt the carbs, checked spark plugs and wires, replaced fuel lines, cleaned fuel filter, checked the fuel pump...any suggestions on what could be the problem? We don't want to take it to a repair shop until we've tried everything.
