OK everybody, I have had many questions about my 1969 Chrysler Valiant that I bought last year answered on this site. It has been an ongoing education for me. Well, I finally got educated on pictures so I thought I would share my first boat/outbaord and my first shot and a rehab. The boat was VERY original and solid when I bought her. The original floor is still solid as a rock. I think I was prety lucky to find her, as she literally was in a large barn for well over 20 years. Well, here you go. Comments are welcome good or bad, but remember I'm still learning! Personally, I think she is coming out great and looks pretty sweet. I can't wait to get my new seats in!

Looks like it's coming together nicely! Is that new paint, original gelcoat, or ?? It looks like it's in good shape, but the gloss is low if it's new paint, which is why I ask. Beyond that, ( and that isn't detracting from the boat at all ) it looks like a perfect example of a Chrysler boat.

Thanks! It is new paint. The original gelcoat was shot and there was some minor glass work to do. It's Rustoleum above water line paint and marine primer, sprayed with a cheap little low pressure gun. I'm no painter by any means and it's not show quality by any means, but she is dirty in the photos and I haven't applied any wax at all. I'm thinking good old Johnson's paste wax.

As she is now, when clean she is pretty bright in the sunlight and the floor has been redone in Kilz white w/ added texture and it'll hurt your eyes in the sun!
