Ya he missed the grease on the part mentioned, I've torn it apart again, this time its getting grease, and hope it works again. Ya I missed that point I think.

The part # of the bushing is 309513 and sells for $9.99. I found this at BRP.

Was waiting for the part to come in, it came in today and they sent the wrong one, got the snowmobile going today after cleaning the carb up. Starts first pull (is this a dream?) and now I discover the high speed needle valve on the this bendix zenith carb is bent and needs replacement as it idles beautifully, but is edgy on high speed

now I discover the high speed needle valve on the this bendix zenith carb is bent and needs replacement as it idles beautifully, but is edgy on high speed

By having the needle valve held in a electric drill attached to a vice OR being held in a drill press, and carefully holding a good file on the same angle as the needle valve taper, one can refinish that bent tip.

004.jpg As you can see it is badly bent and the end is destroyed. Any body know where to find a new one? Should I try making one?

I used to be in contact with an older fellow that was a snowmobile dealer back in the day, and he has buildings of vintage parts. Let me see if I can dig up his contact info for you. He is not far from me in Hamilton.

Did you ever get the rewind working properly ?? And if you did what was the problem ??

Have you tried to Google snowmobile salvage yards for that carb part ??

I'm currently trying to contact another person I was told may have the part in my area. I'm in farm country so there are many people around who have their own salvage yards.

Fixed the jet and now it runs decent low speed, but when I give it gas it bogs down and dies before it moves anywhere. I bled the fuel line to the fuel pump and it idles again but then dies without giving it any power. I think that means the fuel pump is not sucking enough fuel as it should. Any ideas? Same fuel pump as a 33hp Johnson.

Pump the fuel primer bulb constantly, acting as a manual fuel pump. If this cures the hesitation/dying out problem, then suspect a faulty fuel pump.

If this does not correct the problem, suspect either a clogged high speed jet in the carburetor (running lean)...OR... a sticking timer base under the flywheel (retarded timing)...OR... the throttle butterfly(s) are opening too soon in relation to the timing.

It's usually the high speed jet.
