My father inlaw is going to help me replace them. he says he knows what he is doing. i want to know just in case. i have read all of the floor replace posts. what are the stringers and bulkheads made out of????? is there anything i should look for when i get the floors out etc.????? The engine is a 40 hp evenrude. were would be a good place to find a plexiglass windshild for the pass side????
thanks,
Bobby

Bobby,

Welcome to Iboats.

The stringers and bulkheads are usually made of wood that has been covered with fiberglass. Once you get the floor up, look for rot in the stringers. You may have to drill a few holes in them to see if the wood is good or not. If they are bad, they will need to be replaced. Normally if the floor is rotton, chances are the stringers are shot also. You'll want to check the transom as well. If the engine is still on the boat, stand on the lower and see if you get any flex in the transom. If you do, it will need to be replaced. Once you get the floor out, post some pics. You find some good advice here on Iboats...
