Just got her running today with fresh plugs and a new fuel pump cover (it was leaking when you pumped the primer bulb) started right up but would quit after 1 min, I discovered the primer bulb seemed to empty out, when pumped every 30 sec or so the motor kept running. Is this a venting thing or what? Thanks this forum has been helpful on other things as well!

Welcome to iboats.

Check the screens in the fuel pump? How is the diaphragm in there?

The screen is good, I have not gone into the fuel pump at all. Is the fuel pump what will keep the bulb from the fuel tank full? Thanks!

Faulty fuel pump will make you pump the bulb to keep the carb bowl full, and running. Also, a plugged fuel tank intake screen, or any fuel line connection leak from tank to fuel pump can cause the same issue. If the leak is between the fuel pump and the carb, fuel will spew out, but before the pump, it'll just suck air and not fill your bowl.

Great info, keep it coming if I should check anything else. I will work from the tank forward with a new tank, hose and bulb, these guys are old enough to be suspect. Thanks again!
