1968 33 hp, no cut-out 'overspeed' switch ?

Hi rewiring ignition on johnson RXEL 33 hp, I have manual/schematic, looking for quick opinion to route mag wires, Cutout switch is missing 'at some point someone decided they did not need it...". my idea to finish wiring I have two magneto wires from points, on ignition switch I am going to pigtail the 2 mag wires into one wire and connect to one side of ignition switch, the other mag connection on ignition switch I will wire to ground motor chassis, so in 'off ' position on ignition M + M, points/mag will pull to ground. ?? with this setup will I have a problem with arcing/shorting points to ground, when motor/ignition switch goes from running to off. If you short the two mag wires togeather the engine will never start. Wire the mag wires, one each, to the M terminals on the key switch. When you turn the key off the two mag wires are shorted togeather and kills the engine.
