Found this old MFG laying in a friend's woods, on the ground and in tough shape. Last registered in 1997, it had 6" of leaves and mud and a few critters inside. Since my Dad had a '65 Niagra I knew what it was and thought it would be a good project. Had to replace the transom, as it was completely punky. Four layers of balsa/ 1.5 oz mat and it was good as new.
Ending up pulling the deck to get the rodent nests out from the foam and put a layer of balsa there too. After that, mostly patch 'n paint, new Overton seats, and it is almost ready to go. Still looking for a windshield and some power.

Thanks Gents. I'm new to this site and see there are some nice restorations along with lots of good info. A couple more photos of the Westie.

It would surely be helpful to many, if you could post more photos of your restoration. Maybe a little discription too! :D :D

Really nice job. Looks great. I am going to start taking some pics of mine. I like the before and after shots. I should have shot a few while it was still full of leaves, dead mice and all the nesting materials. It still has a bit of mud and crap. I'll snap few today.

Thanks. It has been a fun project. Finally found a windshield off a junk 1964 Crusiers Inc. It is a walk through and not "correct" for the Westfield, but will be handy dropping anchor or pulling up on the beach. Had to cut 2"off each side and replace the cracked and fogged plexiglass with Lexan after buffing the aluminum frame. Powered with a new 60hp Merc EFI 4 stroke.....I know, worth 10X the boat, but good for the long haul. The name is for my Dad.
