1967 Mercury 50 Hp won't idle

My 1967 Mercury 500 50 hp will now idle at half way up and full, the problem is it won't idle at low speed. I had rebuild the carbs and now I have been trying to adjust them. Any help would be appreciated.

If you rebuilt the carbs, then you now have to do a link n sync. IN the repair FAQ's there is thread on how to do this.

After reading it what was plain vanilla engine and the cross flow ?How do you know which is which ?
