Welcome aboard:

The trouble with a Sears boat of that age is two fold. Boats that old weren't using HINs yet, so the serial number may or may not really mean anything. AND Sears, like Montgomery Ward, was contracting several manufacturers to build boats for them to badge.

You can do some lookin' HERE, and see if gives you some ideas. Some of the outboard dudes will be able to speak to the motor better than I can, but I would start by assuming it's an Elgin.

From the looks of the photos it's in good shape. Nice little boat.

Both MFG and Arkansas Traveler made Sears fiberglass boats back then among others. Google images of both these builders and you may be able to identify yours. Nice looking old boat. I am guessing that the motor was made by Chrysler.

Elgin also made fiberglass boats for Sears

Sea Nymph and Starcraft made Sears boats too (IIRC) but I think they were only tin open fishing boats....

Your motor was built by McCulloch. It is definitely 64 or newer because sears dropped the Elgin name in 63. The parts are available for it just need to google them. Google McCulloch outboard or you may need to google Scott outboards. You may want to join the AOMCI as they will be a wealth of information.

You have 1 cool looking barge there. I love that Sears logo on the outboard, I don't recall ever seeing one. Plenty of Elgin's but not any that say Sears. Sorry I can't help you. Please send more pics, we all love marine porno.

When I was a small boy we had a Elgin (Sears) 14 foot runabout with a 28 horsepower Elgin motor :). It wasn't very fun :(.

I went to work at Sears in '65; worked at the warehouse; saw a bunch of them. I remember they were a B@@@@ to unload off the trailer. (Forklift forks too short) I also remember that the trailers (Kit s); boats; motors were all assembled by the truck shop at the warehouse. Then one was sent to every store for display and sale. I also remember them selling a Gamefisher; a funky green fiberglass boat; 10 and 12 '.

I just bought the exact same boat. The badges on the aft port and starboard sides are “SR” which I think stands for Sears Razorback but I haven’t been able to find a picture of a Sears boat by that name. Does yours have the same badges? The dashboard plate says Sears. It came with a 1989 Johnson 40HP VRO. The boat was filthy but has cleaned up pretty well. I deleted the VRO on the Johnson and replaced with a fuel pump. I put a kit in both carburetors and installed a new water pump. Haven’t tried to start it yet. The seats appear to be original and, if so, are in amazing condition for a boat that turns 56 years old this year! The deck gel coat is in excellent shape as is the hull.
The main difference between mine and yours is the windshield. Mine has no framing on the top and sides and is tinted blue! I’ve never seen one like it.
