After spending 21 years defending this fine country of ours and fixing everything the Navy threw at me I finally ran into one thing that has me stumpted. The timing belt on my old 950ss. Does all the covers, flywheel and stator need to come apart to change the belt?
Thanx muchell

chief, looking at merc manual C90-68847, it sure looks like it all got to come off. doesn't cover the situation very well. welcome to iboats from a vietnam disable vet Corpsman. it's a great place to get a little assistance and a lot of knowledge.

engineman, yout will have to remove both to change the belt, first remove the cover plate on the dist. drivewheel to find the alignment arrow to index the flywheel and dist. drive for reinstallment

LTjg. Thanx for the response. I want to thank you for your time in the Navy during Vietnam. It was people like you, my older brother and all the great service personnel that made me decide to join the Navy and serve this great country.
Thanx to Laddies for the info on the removal of all that **** stuff.
