Hi all, This is my first restoration attempt. This boat was purchased by my grandfather in 1969 and has been in the family ever since.

I just started working on it today. If it quits raining one of these days I'll get to do some more work.

Nice boat! How's the transom? Nice Evinrude too, but looks like you need a lower unit.

It's a 16 Ft with an 80hp Evenrude. my uncle has the lower unit and assures me that its ready.

unfortunately the boat has always been a little under powered with that motor so I am going to put a 1986 90 hp Johnson on it to make it go a little better.

It's been raining all week hopefully this week I will be able to do some more work on it.

Wil post pics as I go

That looks just like my first boat. It was a 16 footer with a 60 hp Evinrude. I got the boat and motor for free without a trailer. I got a trailer for free but had to take a junk boat with it. Needless to say the entire setup was just to the good side of junk but I used that boat for years. The "adapted" trailer was a bear to launch and load, but otherwise it was a nice setup. The 60 could pull an adult on a single ski but it took forever to get them out of the water. I hacked mine up, taking the windshield off and cutting the bow area open for a raised fishing platform. It was crude but it worked well and made for a great first boat. It was beat on enough that the mistakes new boaters make were nearly without consequence and the poorly adapted trailer taught me a great deal about being prepared at the ramp.

Have fun with yours.

Ebmonson - Very nice job on the Larson wood floor - very cool boat that has a lot of character compared to the boats of today - A silver Honda 90 would look good on the blue color.

I see many of the old Larsons having the floor replaced due to the inevitable rotting - would like to see and read about how you put it back together and the materials you used.

Thanks,

Mo

I've got a '66 larson all american that looks just like that, but inboard/outboard. My dad bought it new in '66. He gave it to me 6 years ago. it need a rebuild on the engine, but other than that it's in great shape.
