Yes its true. I don't have a picture of them all together right now. In a couple of weeks when I finish installing the outdrive on my Islander I will take a picture of the family and post it. Until then here are some individual shots of the Clan.

They are all great, but that Islander is a sweet ride. Very nice MC.

Re: 1966 Jupiter Restoration

Wow nice collection of tin cans ya got going:D

The nice thing is they will never rust. I hope to have a private tin fleet like yours someday. I will need to buy land first:)

That Evinrude V4 on the Offshore is one nice piece of machinery. I do like your setup with the kicker as well.

Thanks for posting the photos! I think you just earned a spot on the Starcraft Club board of trustees;)

Re: 1966 Jupiter Restoration

In my opinion the ideal motor for a Jupiter is a Johnson/Evinrude 3 cylinder 70/75. Excellent power to weight ratio. I think Yamaha made a 3 cylinder 90 that would also be pretty sweet.

I had a big V4 85 on mine and I think the added weight isn't worth it for the little bit of added HP.

Hey Andy what kind of 50hp motor and what year is it? Mine has a 1972 50hp Johnson which needs to go.

Re: 1966 Jupiter Restoration

I ordered the marine plywood today to redo the transom and floor. I also may have found a motor. A 1994 75 hp 2 stroke Mercury with power tilt/trim. Does anybody have any thoughts on this motor? It also comes with contols and cables.

That sounds like an excellent motor for that boat.

i have a 74 evinrude 50 hp with a 19p prop... tops out around 26 mph with 2 adults and 3 kids. not much of a hole shot because of the prop.

i have a 70 evinrude 85hp v4 that i am hoping to put on there... if it runs. i picked it up cheap but havent gotten it to run yet. i'll be working on it in the coming weeks, hopefully have it going before tinstock. if and when i get it running im going to sell my 50 that i have now.

ezmobee says his jupiter did well with a 3 cyl 85 hp.

Re: 1966 Jupiter Restoration

I just bought a 12 gallon stainless steel fuel tank for the boat for $12. I am going to mount it up in the bow.

Re: 1966 Jupiter Restoration

Good plan. I had a 12 gallon "portable" mounted up there.

Andy, my top speed was only 35 but it sure got there in a hurry. I obviously needed work on my prop and motor heigh setup. My Jupiter always felt like it was plowing just a bit. In comparison my SS feels like it's gliding over the water so I know I didn't have the Jupiter set up right.
