1966 Johnson Motor

I recently took possession of a 1966 Johnson 100 hp motor with tilt. Unfortunately previous owner twisted the control cable and separated the wires inside. Can anyone advise which wire goes where? It is a three wire unit. Thank you.

Control cable with only 3 wires? I'm not sure I know what you're talking about. Pics, where does this "cable" originate and end?

Cable for the electric tilt has 3 wires.

Hi, I just joined up here and this is my first post.

I retrofitted an early power tilt to my '65 Johnson 75 HP. I believe I have the parts catalog and it may contain some wiring info. I will look it up on Sunday.

The wiring is pretty dead simple I think. The panel switch has momentary up and momentary down with center detent. Probably one wire is 12V hot, and the other two are the switched legs for "UP" or "DOWN".
