Hey everyone, figured I should get over here and start adding some pictures and talk about my newest boat. I’m not even sure what model it is technically, so any help with that would be awesome. But I bought a 1965 Starcraft aluminum boat with trailer for $300. As of right now I’d just like to get it cleaned up and water worthy before deciding the over all plan. For now, here’s a few pictures!

First thing that had to happen was getting rid of the rotten seats and clean the pine needles out.

Might check over in the Starcraft area, it looks like it could be a Holiday, which a lot of the guys have owned and restored, they are a pretty good boat. If that is one of them, it is missing the splash well as well as other parts, but you can go to town and make it what you want.

I was thinking a holiday. But I couldn’t quite tell from the pictures I was finding on google. I thought it was missing a splash well, but I wasn’t worried about it since I have access to a full metal shop where I work that on the weekends I have free access to use.

I wish more of the early pictures were working. But I couldn’t see many thanks to photo bucket
Use FireFox or Chrome as your browser and add the PhotoBucket addon, then all PB pix are visible. Else, nope, PB hosed many a topic......

What are people’s thoughts about putting a fresh piece of aluminum on the outside transom? The prior owners have put a bunch of holes for bolts and other things trough. I was thinking a piece of diamond plate(I’m a firefighter, so diamond plate will fit the look I’m going for in the end I think) to cover the holes, seal it on with some 5200 and then the bolts for the transom.
