Progress all day long

Transom out,transom cut and 3 coats spar varnish. Dash out dash cut, spar varnish.

new holes cut for light and vents, note ALL new hardware. all the old stuff was toast...salt water.
bow of boat with all new hardware laid out, note New/old GLASS windshield. Great Day

I had to spend the fourth of July at work but its good to know that at least one 1965 Starcraft got some attention! I hope to start on my transom this weekend!

sorry to hear that ya had to work SCMike, good luck to ya! Cinder block and a 2x4 and that bad boy popped right out and gonna drop the new one in tomorrow flip her and scuff and paint. Thanks rheagler, it's coming along well. I'll post more pics tomorrow.

progress today but no pic...too tired. got the new transom in today ran in a couple of bolts and eyes and got her off the ground and the trailer out from under her and started sanding the bottom, and sanding the bottom, well you get the picture 100 degree day and sanding. came in the house looking like a green martian. sand some more tomorrow and hopefully get some paint on:)

your determination in this heat is impressive! nuttin more fun in 100 degree temps than pores clogged with sanding dust. :eek: but yer on track to splash her this season, likely by mid August at the rate you're going

thanks barato, having more fun than a one legged man at a butt kickin contest. got 1 coat of paint on her today, hoping for 2nd coat tomorrow then some pics. just got out of the shower...washing off white today:rolleyes:

OK, last two days 100+ but...got all the sanding done and first coat of paint on. Dang air compressor too small so a lot of starting and stopping but she is white:)

7th july, 4 days into the Starcraft marathon. 102 out today and second and final coat of paint by 10:30am let it cook till about 3:30 when I started laying out the shiney hardware. Be sure to put on your shades before you click the pics:D

rh, I'm on schedule. Thanks GA. tomorrow get all the hardware fastened, dash back in, get started restoring the original rope steering wheel. sometimes it's all or nothing. want to splash this girl before we head to the coast in 5 weeks. sure would like to take her with us. where we are going is this old girls original home. She's gonna be the Homecoming Queen. I like my original rope look wheel too. Kinda skinny but just looks right.

Looking real good Captain. I like white, it's a classy color. Once you start getting the dash and hardware back in it will compliment the white. It will go from, ohhh that's nice to, oh yea! Good luck and keep at it.

Very nice! I concur white looks awesome. I think your right, the original rope look steering wheel will look great with that boat! I repaired cracks and missing chunks on mine w/ JB Weld and refinished it w/ Rustoleum Plastic (primer and paint) turned out great.

Good luck and keep up the nice work!
