1965 mercury publication-recommended rpm range

Hey guys. so, I trolling the net last night, looking for answers to my mcm 110 hig rpm hiccup and I came across this website call fiberglassics and in their library, I found a advertising brochure or publication, that showed all the models of I/o's that yr. they also show the general specs for each one and I have come to find out that, in 1965, the had a recommended rpm range for my mcm 100 as 3700-4100. Now, I have been told 4500 rpm by a couple of marine mechanics and the mercury dealer. what do the current repair manuals say and what do you guys run your's at?
