No, the rotor button comes off. Then you put a pointer on the shaft and use it on the wheel.<br /><br />-W

I understand about the paperclip and it's purpose.But there is two possible positions because of the double pointers on the rotor button.Do you want me to use the one that would be pointing to number one plug wire on start up with no advance at idle??Does this sound proper?When the plate is sized corect what would the diameter be??Sorry for all the trouble...

Never mind,it is working fine.It starts up after two spins on the crank,runs smooth without hesitation.The problem was partly points and that mercury switch on the side of the block that allows fire to the other coil,well after cutting the wire and splicing them together it took right off..Thanks for all the help,i was just the hands for your knowledge.Looks like a nother great year on the water.... :D
