Hello dear fans of water technics! Recently I have got 1965 Evinrude Sportwin model 9522c. Outwardly the motor in an excellent condition. At start-up of the motor I have found out that the carburetor on the got engine is spat by gasoline from a tube with an aperture being in the top part of the carburetor. Prompt please for what reason it can be and how probably to correct... In advance I thank, yours faithfully!

If you'll go to the site...marineengine.com....select evinrude outboard parts....year...9.5 hp....then model no. 9522...scroll down to carburetor group...page 13 or so....looking at the diagram, maybe you can list the name of the part(s) you are speaking of...

Re: 1965 evinrude sportwin mod. 9522c carburator problem

I will lift a theme... The Previous problem with fuel leak has solved, the problem was a float of the chamber of the carburetor which hasn't been adjusted, hence the needle didn't block fuel giving. Now all is excellent, the float has adjusted, the needle works, fuel giving blocks after filling of the chamber of the carburetor. But there was a new problem, now fuel doesn't arrive in cylinders, spark plugs dry. Tried to blow jets, but the effect isn't present. What thoughts in this respect? In what there can be a reason? Still a question how fuel gets to cylinders, at vacuum formation in fuel system?

If you are sure the carburetor is supplying fuel then the problem could be the reed valves are stuck in the closed position. They are located under the carburetor base plate, which isn't difficult to remove. I don't know if this is a common problem but the reed valves should be the only barrier between the carb and the cylinder intake I'm aware of.

Re: 1965 evinrude sportwin mod. 9522c carburator problem

Elkins45 , Many thanks for council! I at first also have thought and even examined the reed valves, but have then started to build chronology and have remembered that this problem has appeared after when I have removed the carburetor for adjustment and has established it back with old linings. Most likely a problem in infringement of tightness of fuel system. I wait someone can faced a similar problem and will confirm my assumptions. Anyway if I is possible manage within the next few days a problem, I necessarily all will describe.

Re: 1965 evinrude sportwin mod. 9522c carburator problem

So, the motor has earned. Now I will describe all that I did that it to start and achieve normal work.
The first problem - the carburetor was spat by gasoline through an aperture on a carburetor cover. The sunk down needle and an idle float in the chamber карбюратоа was the reason. Measures on elimination: needle Removal, a clearing of a jet and adjustment of normal work of a float.
The second problem - In cylinders fuel, even after carburetor adjustment didn't arrive. Infringement of tightness of the carburetor at its first removal was the reason. Measures on elimination: Installation of new linings (By the way, linings have been made by me independently on a template of old factory linings from special прокладочного a material since I live far outside of the USA and to buy them quickly it will not turn out), перетяжка the carburetor with new linings, and also regulation needle valve №40 on the carburetor diagram. Also under replacement the gasoline pipe line as from time rubber has cracked has got and sprung a leak.
After all spent actions the motor was got from the first jerk, it was necessary to adjust idling only.
I hope that the measures described by me will help somebody as I was helped by some posts at the given forum. MANY THANKS to all responded on my problem! Good luck!
