1965 evinrude fisherman 6hp

I just recently got this motor for free and with some investigation thinks its a 1965 but not sure. Not really sure how to tell! It's in killer shape though, inside is really clean all moving parts looked we'll greased. It is missing the low mixture control knob which seems to be easily lost. I know a little about motors. Every thing is free and has compression. I don't know to much about marine engines though, what should I
Look for ? This motor was ran about 2 years ago. It was stored in the basement. The only other thing wrong is the case is just a little beat up and sun faded, I haven't really been into this stuff but I can not stop playing with it and just super interested. Thought a forum is a great place to start. Any help would help

Look in the "Top Secret File", there is a lot of good information in there about maintaince on your engine. There is a section on awakening a sleeping engine, or something like that, that should ansewer a lot of your questions.
