1965 90hrs johnson parts

i have a 1965 90 hrs johnson outboard.<br />am trying to find parts (locall place says its to old tring to get me to buy a new one)<br />i need a electric choke selenoid . i have manuall now for motor and am trying to get it going <br />the shop says i need this to make it start it has manuall choke on top of carb it is the type 2 carburetor. for 64-65 motors.<br />is this true or can i just use manuall choke? :confused:

Hi Sixgun2.<br /> You can just use the manual choke. I haven't found many problems with the selenoid itself. its just an electro magnet deal. Sometimes the plunger gets stuck. Also check wiring and switch. Good luck.

Ewww, yea. I'd would stay away from the local place..Far away. Not only can you use the manual choke, but even if you can't find one from that vintage/make, you might find one tha will werk from another maker.
