I recently hit a sandbar, and afterwords it appeared that I had a slipped hub. I then bought a new prop from Michigan and am still not able to obtain WOT. It's like "spinning tires on ice", as others would say in the posts i have read. So now should i be checking the shift box or is my lower unit hosed? I am new to all of this. Thank u all in advance for your time and insight.

Don't panic...yet. Check the voltage on the green wire beside the powerhead, where it goes down into the lower unit. Slide the rubber insulator back and check the voltage without disconnecting the connectors. It should be 12V +/- with the key on and shifter in forward. If it checks out OK, then yes you have a problem down below, assuming you are positive about the prop.

However, if you don't have 12V, you have a bad shifter switch or problem in the wiring. The shifter switch is almost as bad though. New ones are hard to find and list at $400. I have a new one for less $$ if you need one.
