1965 40hp johnson timing??

hey all, we took fly wheel, changed the wires, and then we put back, spark gone, so i think we lost timing, somebady does now how to put back, where have to be timing marks, thank you

When you set the points, you set the timing. Did get the wires all the way into the coil.

See if the condencer's are good and check primary and secondery wire on coil for contiuity the high tension leed wire to plugs too
i think the gap for points are 0.20 with wire gauge
I have a 64 40hp that i just did all of the same to and she run's very well

is there a plasic flapper thats hooks to the carborater that invances the timing ??

No. But there is a roller that opens the carburetor. Leave it alone if you don't know how to adjust it.
