Running a 1965 Starflite 90S.. while running with garden hose for one to two minutes at higher rpm's (not sure why..another story), cylinders were Very hot to the touch:eek: I mean, it did not burn me, but I would not leave it there for more than 1 or 2 seconds. I do not have an infrared thermometer... The dash has an over heat warning light and I checked the bulb... which is "good".. I do not know if the sensor is good too...

Saw water "spitting" out but not a steady stream... I inspected the water pump and the impeller seems healthy.

Any thoughts?

Where the heck is the thermostat on this thing?

Please don't tell me I need to remove the power head to check it...

Thoughts?

Found the thermostat location... now need to get at it...

I am told, that you cannot ascertain true function on garden hose... I will try to get things back in order and try another lake test

Got to the thermostat.. opened it up.. finally found the spring that went flying into the grass using a magnet... Nothing seemed "stuck" so I closed it back up.

How can you tell if they are bad?
