Hi i have a 1965 33 h.p evinrude, and i am trying to put it on a new boat with existing steering and throttle and gear cables, i was just wondering, if there is a perticular way i am supposed to put the cables on the motor, can i use the same cables and just make something to make them work, or do i NEED to buy new cables mean for the motor???
i hope you understand what i mean.
Thank you

Welcome to iboats.

If the cables fit and hook up then use them or you will need to change the control box.

HI pontiac51. Welcome to iboats. Cool old motor you got there. I used to have a '66 33 hp myself. If the cables and fittings you have now work, use them. If the cables stick, you'll want new ones, but hold on to the fittings on the motor end. Here are some handy links that can explain how to install them. You can get replacement cables right here at iboats.
