A bit of useless trivia. Old timer mechanics probably remember being taught the importance of the polarity of the spark and how to check the polarity with a pencil. Well the V-4 OMC mag produces two positive sparks and two negative sparks. Motor runs anyway.

Well I'm running again. When I replaced the points, condenser and rotor, one of those fixed it but I didn't know it because I didn't polish off the coating on the points contacts.
