i have the original 60 hp envinrude. can anyone explain proper cold starting procedures, i was unable to keep the motor running at idle and would constantly stall when put in gear. i tried adjusting low speed, with choke on and off but could not get setting proper. a call to previous owner said that due to the cold water, november in nj,and that he ran fogging oil to winterize ,altough i ran it for 15+ minutes, the conditions would effect all settings he had from the summer. any help would be appreciated. also, do you have source for the evinrude blue motor cover paint.thanks, keith

Hi again !
Maybe we're all watching the same game?! Look in the "Out board Engine : FAQ" section. Thing may vary slightly due to elec/man choke etc. If you post on the J/E engine forum , give the model/serial # and you'll get the most accurate info. the better the info you supply the better detail in reply.
P.S. we love pictures! -and I wish i could be trying to boat...16" snow + lakes all froze up:(
Oh one quick tip too.. change your lower end fluid (now) Old seals can leak and collect water in the oil . Then during a cold snap you may find it's cracked the gear housing.
