1963 Mercury Outboard Serial Number?

I have what i think is a 1963 or 1964 Mercury 9.8 (110) outboard. I plan on restoring it, and the serial number plate is missing, my question is, is the serial number somewhere else on the motor?

Check on the starboard side of the powerhead there should be a pad with lighting cast in it the serial should be stamped right below it.
