I'm changing seals and my impeller on a 75 horse johnson. I need to pull the bearinng in the housing to the pump and the housing underneath that supports the drive from my power head, I think a piolot bearing puller would work but.... the inner diam. is 1inch and outer is 1-1/4. my puller is not that big. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Is that bearing damaged, or why do you need to remove it?

no damage yet, but I want to chage the seals behind them in both housings.

You lost me. Are you speaking of the drive shaft seal below the water pump plate? Doesn't it come out from the top without removing the bearing? Or not?

I do know that some of the prop shaft seals won't come out without removing the bearing.

You should know that a needle bearing can only be pressed on the numbered end. Pressing or pulling on the other end will ruin it and it must be replaced. In other words, better have a new one handy before removing it.

There's a seal below the water pump but all you need to do is unbolt the bearing carrier. If you split the lower gear case there's an O-ring. Check out the exploded diagram on the BRP web site for a 1968 85 hp and quote the item number you want to remove.
