I found tool rental shops have most sized you need because they have all sorts of gas powered tools to maintain. I paid about 20 Cents CDN a foot

or amazon....

Next question does anyone know how long the stock recoil rope was supposed to be? I have a feeling the one that came off was too short.

Perfect! Thanks
Update: The new flywheel in and works perfect! I ordered new recoil spring and rope, now that's all fixed and working great. Put the boat in the water today and it didn't have any power at all. I adjusted the low speed and it seemed to give it a lot more power but when running WOT it just does not have any power. I then pulled over and began adjusting the high speed side. This helped some but still no power in WOT. Could this be an issue with the carb needing cleaned? Thats what I am leaning towards because of all the work I have done. The only thing I did not do was completely clean the carb because it looked like someone prior to me had done so.

Sounds like it might be running on just 1 cylinder.----I can't see, hear or feel your motor.----What are the compression numbers ?----Checked fuel pump diaphragm ?----Does spark jump a gap of 1/4" or more on a test device ?

Compression is 70 PSI on both. I do not have a spark gap jump device to test it with. I have not checked the Fuel Pump Diaphragm. I have checked spark with the plug sitting on top of the cylinder head and each had a strong blue spark.

But we are asking you if spark will jump a gap of 1/4" on a test device.-----Not whether spark jumps the gap on a plug laying on the block.-----You may not know or understand the difference and how important it is.----Sorry.

I understand what you are saying. I do not know the significance of it though. Im still learning all this. I guess I will need to go get the gap tester from auto parts store to check.

You may see a spark across a 0.030" gap on the sparkplug.-----But , but that may not be enough voltage to jump the gap when air is compressed in the cylinder.----You need to test maximum output of the magneto !

I see! Thanks, I will check this and report back. What is the best scenario? 1/4?

1/4" or even more for a magneto that is in good condition.----Check the diaphragm.-----Agreed cleaning the carburetor always helps too.

Haven't checked the spark yet but when taking a look at the throttle position I noticed that when in WOT it does not engage the throttle plate all the way. Trying to get a good photo to show you.

This photo is with throttle position set to WOT. If you look inside the choke you can see the throttle butterfly valve not open enough for WOT.

Motor has to be in forward gear to get throttle wide open.----If throttle does not open all the way check the nylon pin.----Found on bottom of shaft on port side of the motor.

The throttle will not push the throttle plate all the way. Here is a video of it.

Not sure how to take the play out. Replace the nylon pin?

This is the piece that was in there not the nylon peice. It sticks out too far not allowing the full rotation of the shaft. I will order new nylon pin.
